The Kimberley Writers Festival is an annual celebration of stories and creativity, held in the heart of the Kimberley. It aims to entertain and inspire residents of - and visitors to - to the East Kimberley region by bringing together authors, illustrators, poets, and storytellers from across Australia for an inspiring weekend of workshops, readings, and conversations.

The festival is a vibrant mix of culture, community, and creativity which offers something for everyone - from avid readers to aspiring writers. Highlights include engaging panel discussions, intimate author sessions, and the much-loved boat cruise. It is held in the stunning dry season with each year's dates announced in January. Keep an eye on the library's Facebook page for the announcement!

The library is also rolling out The Kimberley Digital Discovery Program which aims to increase digital literacy skills in children and families in and around Kununurra and the East Kimberley. Staff members introduce groups to various devices to get people more comfortable with the technology that is all around; they are travelling far and wide to deliver the program which is designed for small group instruction.

If you would like the Kimberley Digital Discovery Program to visit your community, school, early learning centre, or social group, please get in touch via the library's contact form.
