2018 Western Australian of the Year Awards – Nominations now open
Let’s get the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley community involved! Do you know someone within our community that has done some amazing work and deserves recognition? Now is your chance to nominate them for Western Australian of the Year!
The Western Australian of the Year Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding contribution to our state by those born and bred in Western Australia, or those who have chosen to make Western Australia their home.
The Awards celebrate excellence in business leadership, social entrepreneurship and innovation; improving the profile of WA arts and culture; inspirational role models in the Aboriginal community; positive social, scientific and economic impact; achievement in sport; and improving the lives of young Western Australians and the community as a whole.

How to Nominate:
The online process is very simple and will take just a few minutes. Once you create an account simply fill in your details, select the relevant category, and provide a summary of how the nominee has achieved excellence in the category and contributed to our community (maximum 200 words per summary).
Key Dates
Get these key dates in your diary for the 2018 Western Australia of the Year Awards.
- Nominations close midnight on Friday 2 March 2018.
- Finalists announced in April 2018.
- Winners announced at the Western Australian of the Year Awards Gala Dinner on Friday 1 June 2018.
