As a local government, we are responsible for taking precautionary measures to minimise risks to community health at Shire facilities in the face of this pandemic:
Kununurra Administration Office will be accessible by appointment only from Monday 6 April 2020, until further notice. Whilst Customer Service is still open, walk-ins will not be permitted and enquiries must be made by phone on 9168 4100 in the first instance.
Wyndham Administration Office will be closed from 4:30 pm Friday 3 April 2020, and re-open on Monday 20 April 2020 (by appointment only). Wyndham residents are encouraged to contact the Kununurra Office on 9168 4100 for all enquiries in the interim.
As part of our Business Continuity Plan, we have sent the majority of our Administration workforce to work from home and have retained a small team to continue working within the Kununurra office. This is to ensure the continuation of Shire services and the safety of our staff.
Most local government customer interactions can be fulfilled via phone 9168 4100 or email mail@swek.wa.gov.au. An appointment will be made in all circumstances that require face-to-face interaction. For animal registration and collection, please advise Shire Rangers via phone 9168 4100.
By limiting face-to-face interactions, it will further reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. We encourage the community to continue to practice good hygiene, social distancing and limit all non-essential travel.
The health and wellbeing of the community and our staff is our number one priority. We appreciate your understanding during this unprecedented time.
