DPIRD asking for help monitoring for unwanted pests

Published on Thursday, 11 July 2019 at 8:19:33 AM

The Department of Primary Industry and Regional Development are currently seeking 25 Kununurra households to trap insects on sticky traps placed next to solanaceous plants for five weeks in July and August.

The trapping kit will be supplied and includes a  tomato plant, a number of sticky yellow traps and a trap protector. The trap will need to be changed weekly with the old trap being sent back immediately.

By helping on this project, you will be assisting Kununurra producers to ensure that interstate and overseas markets for fresh produce remain accessible.

This project is a part of a national project sponsored by each state agriculture department, as well as the National Horticulture body HIA.
