The Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley is proud to announce the recipients of the 2024-25 Community Grants Program.
Over $400,000 was awarded to twelve not-for-profit community groups to support local events, community programs, and facility upgrades.
Shire President David Menzel emphasised the importance of these grants in strengthening the region, stating: "Through our Community Grants Program, we are able to support a diverse range of events, programs, and projects that
bring people together, celebrate our region, and enhance local facilities. These grants are an investment into our community."
- Events
- Ag Society – Kununurra Agricultural Show ($25,000)
- Water Ski Club – Dam to Dam ($15,000) & WA Ski Show ($5,000)
- Kimberley Action Sports – Lake Argyle Adventure Race ($17,000)
- Argyle Swim – Lake Argyle Swim ($35,000)
- Ord Valley Events – Ord Valley Muster ($100,000) & Taste of Kimberley ($20,000)
- Kununurra Campdraft and Rodeo Association – Muster Rodeo ($20,000)
- Wunan Foundation – East Kimberley Aboriginal Achievement Awards ($15,000)
- Community Programs
- Neighbourhood House – Community Shed ($13,000)
- Toy and Puzzle Library – Building Capacity Program ($3,000)
- Pilbara Kimberley University Centres – East Kimberley University Study Hub ($12,500)
- Facilities
- Wyndham Historical Society – Restoration of the Big Wheel ($14,900)
- Kununurra Picture Gardens – Grant writer and new projector ($15,000)
The Shire also provided 11 Quick Grants and 17 Rates Assistance Grants to support community groups.
David added: "Our goal is to empower local groups to continue their fantastic work. We encourage organisations to keep an eye out for the next grant round later this year and reach out to us for support in applying."
